From Cape Town, head east along the world famous Garden Route, stretching all the way from Cape Town to Port Elizabeth.  This tour can be customised from a 3 day to a 3 week itinerary! The range of topography, vegetation, wildlife and outdoor activities is remarkable.  The coastline boasts excellent beaches at Wilderness and Knysna, while inland you’ll find picturesque lagoons and lakes, the famous Cango Caves system, historic ostrich farms, rolling hills and the mountains of the Outeniqua and Tsitsikamma ranges.  The ancient indigenous forests that line the coast from Wilderness to Knysna offer adventure trails and hiking, birdwatching, canoeing on the rivers, sliding (zip-lining) through the tree canopy or simply taking an easy walk through the forest to gasp at the size of a yellowwood tree that's over 600 years old. Bird lovers will enjoy spotting the brilliant green and red Knysna loeries or walking through Birds of Eden, the words largest free flight aviary.

For the animal lovers, there is the allure of perhaps catching sight of one of the near-mythical elephants said to inhabit the forests.  Other amazing animal actives include visiting Monkeyland, the world’s first free roaming multi-specie primate sanctuary and a visit to and elephant sanctuary where you can learn more and see these magnificent animals up close.  Overnight safari experiences at either Botlierskop Private Nature Reserve or in the Addo Elephant Park are also highly recommended.  Let us put an unforgettable itinerary together that suits both your interest and your pocket.

Cango Caves: Situated in a limestone ridge parallel to the well-known Swartberg Mountains, you will find the finest dripstone caverns, with their vast halls and towering formations.  The adventure tour will see you climbing through narrow tunnels and spelunking to the lesser accessible sections of the cave system!

Ostrich Farm:  See and learn all about ostriches, feed one by hand, and see the various crafts made using the ostrich’s exquisite feathers, eggs and leather.

Monkey Land: Walk through the world’s first free roaming multi-specie primate sanctuary.  Monkeyland has as one of its aims, to create awareness about the plight of primates and to show that with a greater understanding of our primate cousins, that we can all live in harmony.

Birds of Eden: Walk through the world's largest free flight aviary and bird sanctuary.  The sanctuary has its own mysterious ruin, which incorporates a walk-behind waterfall.

Elephant Sanctuary: See these magnificent animals up close.  Feed them and learn how you can help the efforts for conservation of these beautiful creatures.

Jukani Wildlife Sanctuary: Jukani Wildlife Sanctuary is home to big cats such as lions, cheetahs, tigers (Siberian, Bengal and white), leopard (spotted and black), jaguar, pumas, caracal, serval cats and other wildlife species such as zebra, wild dog, springbuck, zorilla, honey badger, raccoons and various snake species (which are housed separately).  The focus is on conservation education and specifically the plight of large predators in captivity, in South Africa and all over the world.

Safari at Botlierskop:  This malaria free, family owned and privately operated four star garden route game lodge is home to an abundance of animals including 4 of the Big 5, lions, elephants, buffalo's, giraffes, rhino's, hippos, rare black impalas and more as well as unique bird life.

John Ben Cruise:  A Natural Heritage site, the Featherbed Nature Reserve in Knysna is an utterly unique privately owned reserve that lies on the Western Head of the famous landmarks known as 'The heads', accessible only by ferry.  The John Benn is a double-decker floating restaurant offering lagoon cruises to the Knysna Heads.  One of the best floating restaurants in Knysna!

Tsitsikamma Canopy Tours:  Zipline in the magnificent Tsitsikamma indigenous rainforest. Many of the platforms are built around giant Outeniqua Yellowwood trees that are up to 700 years old! The scenery and birdlife is spectacular and professional guides ensure your safety while keeping you informed about interesting features of the forest ecology.

Storms River Kayak Adventure: The 2-3 hour Storms River kayak and lilo adventure takes you to explore deeper into the Storms River Gorge.  Experience the long, deep, quiet pools with deep caves and ancient forests.  This is an activity not to be missed!

Bloukrans Bungee:  The view from Africa’s highest bridge captures all the majesty and tranquility of the Bloukrans River valley. But there is nothing tranquil about throwing yourself more than 200 metres down towards the river below. Recognised as the ‘highest bungee from a bridge’ in the world, Bloukrans Bungy uses pendulum bungee technology to ensure the smoothest, most comfortable bungee jump possible. Jumpers are secured in a full-body harness combined with an ankle connection.

Paragliding: Numerous locations around the Garden Route, our favourite however, is The Map of Africa in Wilderness in the heart of the Garden Route, another stunning paragliding site. The name for this place derives from the view over the back, showing a shape of the river similar to the coastal outline of the Southern African countries. The view towards the coastline is even more stunning.
